After a less-than-average 2019-2020 rain season, the water holes are drying up fast. The grass is similarly drying up fast, so there is less food for animals. Shortage of water is particularly problematic for animals. They will need to walk long distances to get water, burning up precious energy reserves. As water levels recede, the water becomes more concentrated with solutes, including micro-organisms. Farmers need to be aware of diseases like anthrax and clostridial diseases. Worms can also be an issue. Its a crunch period. If you add the economic squeeze from Covid 19, it does not look good.
